Q&A with ZY Official

I'm not sure where to begin with ZY Official. The man is a rare breed. He is an up an coming hip artist, and it is only a matter of time before he blows up purely based off of his excellent music. However, as you'll see in the Q&A, ZY Official is ambitious. He is seeking to be much more than a hip-hop artist. He plans to brand himself and become something so much bigger than hip-hop.

One prime example of this is his YouTube channel. He has co-directed almost every single one of his music videos, which can be found on his channel. He also has a few vlogs, which are very entertaining. ZY Official is planning to bring much more content to his YouTube channel in the future.

Back to his music. ZY Official is a natural born talent when it comes to hip-hop. He basically has set himself apart from a lot of other rappers because of his ability to rap and sing, in the same song. That is the definition of talented.

My personal favorite song by ZY Official is "Level Up". It is probably one of the waviest bangers I have ever heard. The song really shows how versatile he is as an artist.

Q. Can you tell me a bit about yourself?

ZY Official - I was born and raised in Fairfax Virginia, I got into music my senior year of high school, then moved down to Miami after community college wasn't working out. I decided to take it a step further and pursue my music career.

Q. What is your most played song on SoundCloud? What went into that track? What does it mean to you?

ZY Official - My most played song on SoundCloud is "Right Now" what inspired me to make this song was that I was getting more confident in telling people that I made music while promoting at a club. I felt saucy while in VIP and decided to make a song about it.

Q. How would you describe your sound?

ZY Official - My sound is very versatile, wavy and rich. it doesn't matter what beat you give me, I'm ganna put some flavor on it. I'm really big on melodies and always want to be able to listen to something that's ganna make bob my head or dab or something. My sound is a mix of different flows that create a vibe to match the beat.

Q. What has been your biggest challenge as an up and coming hip-hop artist?

ZY Official - My biggest challenge has been trying to expand my audience. The music industry is so oversaturated right now and sometimes good music gets overlooked. The only thing I can do is keep cranking out songs and promoting them until people know who I am. Wouldn't even say it's a challenge just a part of the game that I gotta play.

Q. Your YouTube channel is dope. The music videos are great, and the vlogs are entertaining. Are you planning to direct your own music videos or anything like that in the future?

ZY Official - We want to have all types of content on YouTube whether it be songs, music videos, vlogs, or skits. When you type in ZY Official I want all sorts of things to pop up. For most of my music videos, I have co-directed them, but I have such a good team that all of our ideas come together well.

Q. Finally, is there anything that YOU want people to know about yourself?

ZY Official - I want people to know that this is just the beginning of ZY Official. I have my first official album dropping soon that's ganna hit a variety of different audiences. We have more of everything on the way: merchandise, more music, more videos, and more life... (shout out drake) be on the lookout cause I ain't never gon stop.
