Steem: The Issue With Blogging
So here I am... just started the day with reading an article about Ethereum and few hours later, I am on Steem. And that is after a journey through all kinds of "altcoins" and blockchain articles and research: bitcoin, litecoin (the silver to the bitcoin gold), ripple (fully mined), ether and "gas", hash rates and GPU power, and the list of fascinating names and concepts and worlds goes on.
Now back to Steem. Obviously by the meteoric rise of the platform, the concept has potential. It actually looks like a great alternative to blogging sites and and could be a natural blogging platform. However, can the blog be anonymous or written under a pseudonym / trademark?
When I go to zerohedge.com, for example, all blog posts are by a "Tyler Durden," or a trio (now duo) of former finance guys with an alternative view of the world making it known without necessarily revealing their identity, which in many ways could distract people from their message and focus on what they have to say... Tons of other blogs and news articles follow similar platforms -- as using a pseudonym is often practiced in media. The pseudonym can sometimes be used not for anonymity necessarily, but to create a brand. Or maybe it starts as a protection of the author's identity, but turns into a brand, like the well known Youtube "prepper" Nutnfancy (who still has not revealed his name) and his TNP ("The Nutnfancy Project").
Would be great if Steemit can offer the possibility for setting up multiple blogs and publishing content under numerous aliases. Better yet, integrations with content management platforms will also be great as well as a syndication of the Steem upvoting mechanism. Maybe this stuff is already out there or in the plans and I just have not come to read about it yet... but until then.
Cheers and Happy Blogging!
