Things That Can Be Improved On Steemit
Steemit is a great platform and considering the business complexity of the platform the things are pretty well for the platform but still there are a lot of improvements that can be done on platform. The platform is pretty finished but there are a lot of small small functionalities that can great increase the usability of the platform and provide us a more finished product. Let's discuss some improvements that we can do on the platform.
1. UI/UX
Steemit still looks pretty unfinished considering the age of the platform. A user oriented product must have a better User Interface and User Experience so that it is pretty explanatory for a user about how things work on the platform. Once we are done with the cool designing of the platform, we can market it easily to attract people to this platform. Being a Front-End dev I know how important UI is for a common person and how it can drastically change the way we look at the platform.
2. Exchange Steem and SBD both ways
Currently what we have on the platform is we can only exchange STEEM to SBD but we can't do vice-versa. I think it would be a nice addition to the platform for the people who want to keep the SBD instead of Steem. It would make the platform a little bit more fulfilled and finished.
3. Searching
We are using Google for the searching functionality on the platform but I think that should be implemented natively. I know it can take a lot of development efforts but for the long term it is going to great. Another thing that we can do for now is use the RSS GET requests and parse the XML to our UI.
4. Scaling Steem To Big Exchanges
I know STEEM is the most undervalued crypto in the market considering its usability and robust architecture. If the STEEM can be added to the big exchange sites then it can greatly impact on the popularity of the platform implicitly. Other benefits are the volumes, it would greatly increase the trading volume of the STEEM. Another thing is, a lot of people are not comfortable in trading the cryptos on the newbie platforms like HITBTC or Crappy platform like Poloniex. I think @timcliff is already working on it and reaching out to the multiple organisations for the same.

On the internal exchange, you can buy or sell Steem, so in effect, you can sell or buy SBD.
You are right but there is no functionality to convert it directly to SBD without going to market like we have it with the SBD to STEEM. I apologise for not being accurate.

I agree with all the points. I would like to add that it should be clear that convert to steem button should be made clear that people will lose their earnings and suggest people to convert through the button market.
Yes! This is for now only. In future the SBD prices are ultimately going to be around 1$
