Steemit for breakfast lunch and dinner!
I'm just a content monkey lately. Puffing on the Steemit pipe, it seems like every chance I get. When I wake up, I lay around in bed for a half hour and scroll around. I read about people from all over the world and what they decided to share while I was asleep. On my lunch break at work I try to find another post or two to devour. When I get home from work, I unwind by reading something I would not have come across a couple weeks ago. Through out the day, I spend and hour or two easily on here. I could do worse with my time.
If I had more free time, I could browse for hours. People are often mentioning Reddit around here. I just remember not being able to browse around there. Even just reading about something I was searching for eventually left me feeling like I needed a shower. Something seemed weird there. Grimey.
I used to keep a journal in my late teens and early twenties. I would mostly write three or four times a week. Trying to put down the important events so I could go back and remember better. Sometimes just deconstructing a trivial moment. A chance encounter, an awkward conversation, me at my best and me at my worst. Steemit is making me want to write again in that style. A couple blogs I've made have not been super fruitful, but it's nice to write again.
The weird thing is, it's not even the opportunity to make money that is motivating me. It's everyone else sharing things about themselves. I love stories about peoples past. Detailed ones. Tell me how you felt, tell me what worried you, tell me what you thought would happen and what actually did. I find a little bit of that in the introductory posts. Some people put good detail in them and I get a strangely good feel for the person. I don't know anybody here, but with every paragraph I read, I know a little more.
Something about being motivated to write more by other peoples writing forces a smile to my face. I've literally caught myself reading and writing with a big grin on my face. Not sure about you, but I gotta assume there is a little magic happening here.
Now that you're done reading this, go make a post of your own. I like the 'life' tag. Give me more stories to devour!
