Cointelegraph is spreading FUD to crash the STEEM price by suggesting that Dan and Ned are abandoning the STEEM blockchain for a different chain!steemCreated with Sketch.

This is an obvious case of slanted journalism no different than what you see in the mainstream media today, and it is due to the fact that Steemit is a direct competitor to Cointelegraph as a news creation/aggregation/distribution platform.

This lie is quoted from the recent Cointelegraph article:

"Steemit itself will be continuing with (the) STEEM (blockchain) despite (its) low price due to the fact that..."

https://cointelegraph.com/news/steemit-exceeds-100k-users-plans-to-expand-saving-steem

Steemit is a news platform superior to anything in the world because we cannot be censored, and are globally distributed. Anyone who communicates information for a living knows that by saying "Steemit itself will continue with the STEEM blockchain due to..." knows all too well that this implies that Steemit itself (Ned and Dan) had considered or are considering abandoning the STEEM blockchain for another.

The Cointelegraph article goes on to compare STEEM to "Yours" which is a completely different structural business model for a social community and they go as far as suggesting that Dan and Ned are considering copying this vaporware platform's plan to utilize the bitcoin blockchain instead of one with free transactions and TRUSTLESS instant transactions!

AM I THE ONLY ONE HERE FURIOUS ABUT THIS FUD!

This is pure obfuscation of the STEEM platform mechanics which are hard enough to explain to the masses without having to fight the FUD spewing out of the mouths of the mainstream crypto media!

Go ahead and try to downplay this by saying that "oh, I'm sure that Cointelegraph just got their facts mixed up, and will promptly put out a redaction." Because you know that Cointelegraph specializes in the digital currency industry, and is completely used to explaining such complicated concepts coherently. These guys routinely report on every digital currency in the coinmarketcap 1000, and the concept of STEEM has been around for nearly a year, and we are already seeing more complex clones on the market. You are the type who believes that the department of homeland security made a mistake when the Orlando shooter's dad sat right behind Hillary at a rally (and they have computers nowadays). I bet you think that politicians and central bankers are stupid too.

It's not paranoia if it's true! The only logical fact is that they are either stupid or incompetent, which does not bode well for those of us paying for such shabby service.

And, yes, of course, the fact remains that this all occurred AFTER the "Orlando Shooting"

You know which shooting I'm talking about right? Yes, the one where the police scanner tapes coincidently quit recording at the exact same time the shooting was happening ("I'm on my way"/ "STAND DOWN SOLDIER!"/etc). They released the 911 tapes to cover up the fact that the public police scanner tapes blacked out at that precise moment and for the first time ever.

Just look at how the most important news never "trends" because they can black it out.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-10-29/social-media-blackout-fbi-emails-are-not-trending-twitter-facebook-buzzfeed-or-snapc

But I digress. It appears that the mainstream crypto press is waging a FUD war against the STEEM blockchain just like how the mainstream media wages war on all freedom and free markets. Such disgusting obfuscation of truth flies in the face of everything that Steemers stand for.

Cointelegraph not only tried scaring the crypto masses away from STEEM, but they also lied about the value of the STEEM marketcap. Cointelegraph says the STEEM marketcap is "low" despite the fact that STEEM's marketcap is in the top 2% of all digital currencies. The top 2% is not "low" in any ranking.

When "low" means the top 2% then congratulations Steemers, we have reached 1984 again!

This is Orwellian double speak at its finest. Orwellian doublespeak is the propagandist's weapon of mass destruction:

Mass surveillance is enacted as a "patriotic act"

http://www.activistpost.com/2016/03/top-20-modern-doublespeak-terms-to-be-aware-of.html

The next thing you know, Cointelegraph will be using oxymorons like moderate rebels, homeland security

WAKE UP STEEMERS, THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA IS WAGING WAR ON US!

And don't forget George, a digital currency with a marketcap in the top 2% is "LOW"

So they take a fact, and describe it with the opposite subjective adjective than it factually is, and suggest that Ned and Dan are abandoning the STEEM chain while simultaneously ignoring the most easily attainable fact which is that the only other public digital currency in the top 20 that is less than 1 year old and waaaay below that average age of all the other top 20 digital currencies is...

Drum roll please...

PeerPlays! A Graphene clone, and future STEEM sidechain!

and I won't be censored either when I state not only publicly but factually (you know like the top 2% is, well, you know, the very highest top):

fuck you cointelegraph, you lying, fudding or grossly incompetent propaganda pos for suggesting that Dan would abandon a blockchain after not even a year!

Sort:

Good thing that nobody can censor you (not even Dan himself). I will always be able to read 100% of everything that you said.

I also support flagging. I like to "boo" at sporting events, and would hate for someone to pass a law that tells me I can't boo you or flip you the bird, or flag you, or whatever the hippest term of the day for this is.

Do you know that they used to bring rotten fruit to the theater!

Flagging back in the day:

Wake up kid, not everyone is going to like you!

@skeptic seems not to understand what the blockchain really means. Someday he will, but until then don’t waste too much time trying to tell him. I prefer to show it. For instance, if you go to beyondbitcoin.io you will see we are starting to get to the point where the site will read from steem and take upvotes directly from the site. However, if someone wanted to they could code their own additions to make it so it ONLY covers flagged content!
These are the kinds of things that can be done with steem-based sites and if people like it, they might even make it so the amount of power flagged against you makes your post rate Higher!
The possibilities are pretty stunning actually. But development has cost this fuzzy guy, @faddat and @baabeetaa a lot of upvoted sbd…because we honestly care about this chain growing up strong. If you are pissed that people don’t believe in it, consider helping beyondbitcoin ;)

say boo in the comments but to flag is the same as robbing the box office payments and pulling the power. whatever though, steemit has the worst rep and its only getting worse. the platfor is dying because of the flagging problem. have fun watching your ship sink.

You should check out this one too. It talks about the same thing you are saying from more of a "high level" game theory level :)

Nobody takes Cointelegraph seriously.

Ugh.. media.

Classic example of media bias. Whether it's intentional or it's just through ineptitude we may never know, but it's all too easy to attempt to sway the masses through the use of carefully chosen language.

But hey, we have always been at war with Eurasia, right?

Your logical fallacy for the day is false equivalence.
