The World of Cryptocurrency - The Sleeping Giant
Currently, all the limelight was focused on Bitcoin and Ethereum and we can't deny the fact that these two currencies were the king and queen respectively in the cryptocurrency world. Most of the altcoins can't be purchased unless we go through with these coins. The buzz that bitcoin had these recent days was so intense that many people would take notice. There are reports that were circulating in the web that in Germany virtual currency was recognized as "private money" by the German Finance Ministry - that means bitcoin can be used for tax and trading purposes in their country. Meanwhile in the Philippines, Central bank grants licenses to the two local bitcoin exchanges in the country - these are the two exchanges that operate in the country. There are so many things that happen in the cryptocurrency world day by day. Some countries they banned bitcoin and later they withdrew their decision. Bitcoin now is really on a global scale phenomenon and its impressive bull run leaves a mark in history as one of the fastest growing currency.
Steem has widely underrated cryptocurrency together with Steem Backed Dollar (SBD). This may be due to its performance several months ago that it hardly reached $1. But I do believe that Steem is a sleeping giant that is ready to wake-up anytime soon. Its platform is so unique compared to other cryptocurrencies. Most platforms include lending, trading, staking, mining & etc but this steem was backed by steemit which is a social media-like platform wherein users can interact each other via blogging and steemit chat. I do believe that steem is a long-term investment and will have a stronger community compared to those common platforms that other cryptocurrencies have. Most ICO's right now was just having the same platform all throughout and users were jumping from one platform to the other.
If the steemit team will revolutionize their platform that will run like facebook, surely it will catch the attention of a wider audience and will create an intense buzz within the crypto-community. Currently, Steem and SBD were started to rise and its on track - hoping that this will continue to surge. I do really love steemit and their platform as a whole, it's so unique and simply amazing! kudos to the steemit team.
I am also waiting for steem to breakout 20,000 satoshi level to start its new uptrend and I hope it can break the previous high above 100,000 satoshi. Comings days will be interesting.

We just need the world to know that there is a blockchain that works better than most of the big names. Free, cheap transactions should be what people want. At least the Steem price is rising, but that's without much publicity. I look forward to big things next year.

@tuhin I think in the same way. People doesn’t know the Steemit yet but Steemit needs more appeal as a platform in order to attract regular users. When I tell to people about Steem and Steemit I always say ... think in a Facebook. Every like you get worth a real money! People get instantaneously interested but they say, wow, this is ugly. Let's see what is going to happen in 2018. cheers
One problem that hinders those newcomers was their earning in their blogs. Many of my frieds were discouraged due to their low earning - it doesnt compensate their effort in making an article, lol

Bitcoin has the benefit of first entry - and it is the name that is synonymous with cryptocurrencies.
almost everyone that gets into crypto buys bitcoin first. That is why the price is taking off - because cryptos at large are taking off.
There are other coins however, that have better technology underpinning them.
I'm not calling for a bitcoin crash or anything like that - I just think eventually another coin will take over. It might not even be what you expect (ie. etherium) and certainly not shitcoin cash.

Yeah, be with what coin? Etherium, Litecoin, BitShares? It only could be exciting if one of those would rise thousands percents in a year ot two and then one would cash out and live happily ever after! Cheers!
If I knew the answer to that I'd be all in. I'd like to say vertcoin, but that's probably not realistic, they'll probably be a top 20 coin soon though...
One coin I need to research more is rod, and monero. I'm hearing things that are tweaking my interest levels though I haven't dug any deeper yet...

Bitcoin is really making life difficult for users in terms of high transaction fees and confirmation speed. Just that it is the only gateway between fiat currency and Cryptos. Bitcoin is in need of a rival to curtail its excesses.
yup, i do agree with you but how can they rival bitcoin? It has unprecedented skyrocket and no one can even par with it.. as of now...
