The SBD is still in a nice bullish trend :
We should go test soon the $3 level.
The first objective to reach that goal is to break the $2.80.
If we are able to break it, we should go test quickly the 3$ level.

I’m new to this, so thanks for all the info, I’m trying to learn as much as I can.
SBD is supposedly pegged at about USD $1.00 though it fluctuates within a fairly wide range for the moment. Therefore, the idea that it will reach USD $2.80 to USD $3.00 is somehow almost impossible, it has been programmed otherwise. On the Steem level though, things are going to be different!

I wonder how long it can stay at elevated if it's programmed to come down. I am wanting to buy some ; )
If I had extra cash to put into the platform, I'd invest into the Steem, not the (SBD) Steem Backed Dollars as, not only would you get a lot more for your money right now, but on the long run the value of it will necessarily rise well above the SBD, several multiple times... ;)
Otherwise, I'd sink it into other Bitshares based platforms, such as the Bitshares itself, EOS, the Sovereign HERO, Zephyr or even Eristica, coming out in 2 days! ;)

I thought witnesses were supposed to control SBD to make sure it remains around $1?
I am still pretty new to steem / steemit so I need the price to stay low so that I have time to catch up :p Still have a lot to learn as well so I have a few questions that are probably already answered somewhere.
Long term I think steem will be a lot more than $3, but how exactly can a "Steem Backed Dollar" be worth more than $1 if my wallet says that's what it's supposed to be? At first glance it appears to be designed to stay at a fixed rate of $1 USD to 1 SBD. So how exactly is an SBD going up?
I did read up on how SBD works and exactly what it is, and I want to assume that the system will dilute the SBD pool by adding more, or as users "hold" their SBD earnings, thus bringing the value of an SBD back down to $1. I'd like some clarification on this from someone a little bit more versed on the topic. When/how does it balance itself out? Perhaps I have this all wrong. Look forward to the answer!
