So, after WEISS Rating placed Steem in the top 5 cryptocurrency coins to invest in, investopedia posted a blogpost about Top Non-Bitcoin Altcoins for Your Portfolio in 2018...you guessed it...we made it to the short list of crypto that they recommend.

In fact they wrote an article 2 years ago just when Steem first came out Steemit: The Disruptive Blockchain-Based Media Community which is a little outdated on the technical side.
But it's still nice to see that reputable websites such as investopedia.com are now covering cryptocurrencies and alt-coins.
Steemit.com & d.tube are getting difficult to ignore
Steemit currently ranks 1,156 most traffic website on the internet(and still rising daily) while d.tube is seeing a meteoric rise:
As more website have success like d.tube with the Steem blockchain model, the more this technology will spread through society.
Conclusion
Steem Power is where it's at baby! You shouldn't feel fringe or that we are taking a risk by powering up those sweet steems. Of course, this is just my opinion and not an investment advice.
In general yes, I agree, steemit has bright future. But only if the rules are changed somehow to make numerous abuse cases we all see- imposible. So far I see very little progress on this.
Steemit is getting there slowly and steadily.
Soon the whole world will know about Steemit and Steem will skyrocket to the roof!

Wow, I remember @jrue informing me last month that Steem was around the 2000 mark when it came to most visited, and now we are almost at 1000! The future is bright! I'm certain by the end of February we will pass the 1k mark, and hopefully continue the snowball effect for a good while.
It has already gone past the top 1,000 for the United States, but sadly fell down again. But yeah, the future is bright for Steem and Steemit!

Well I'd say there is quite a risk involved by powering up Steem. You are risking to get very wealthy, financially independent and live your life without ever questioning if a specific thing is within your budget.
Ask yourself the question if the removal of scarcity in your wallet is something that you would really want. Not everyone is well equipped to handle these kind of riches, so proceed at your own risk...
