It seems that Dan will develop Wren-based smart contract chain, which is also based on Steem technology. I think that once Dan's produce is stable, Steemit team can implement the smart contract feature easily. Go Steem!

Haha I thought the same thing. Impressive detective work.

As I've seen several days ago he forked two repos of steem code to his own github account. This change of licence might be related to the joint statement about parting ways.

All the best with your development, @dan.

That is quite interesting! I am gonna check out this wren malarkey!

Will Steemit be entitled to benefit from this smart contract language that Dan is developing?

Very clickbait title

This is a licence of another project, not the steem blockchain

I am excited to see smart contract on Steem, but don't see the connection from this repo.

I am probably missing something though and would appreciate help in learning how this repo relates to smart contracts

See Dan's other repos and his post in @lexicon082's comment. He is clearly working with wren :)

I love this site! Nice post. I like your page. We should connect! I gave an up vote.

I wonder what the smart contract chain will do. It is exciting though!

I am not exactly sure what this means or could mean... can you elaborate on it a bit?

Just my guess is Dan wasn't able to use Steem codes under Steemit license, but now the issue has been resolved and he can use for his smart contract things.

I see. Thanks for the explanation! So, will these smart contracts be tied to the steem blockchain somehow then?

I hope so.

This is duper exciting to think about.
