FILM - a Universal Medium - Can Smart Media Tokens (SMT's), ICO's Support Film Funding
FILM is a power medium.
Film has a wide mass appeal. Everyone wants to be in the movies. Therefore, positioning Steem and Steemit as a Filmmaker's platform fostering creative collaboration and providing film funding thereby empowering budding filmmakers, will engender grassroots support worldwide from not only those who have a stake at any level in the film process but audiences across the globe.
Therefore, we are currently looking to the future to see if Smart Media Tokens (ICO's) can be deployed to fund such films while also exploring options to adapt conventional funding to achieve the same results on Steemit.

I agree that Filmmakers need the funding and having a great story isn't enough, so many talented people can't get their film out due to lack of funding and many films like Full Monty won't get made. As a filmmaker myself, the idea of being able to fund my own project just gives me hope and motivation. I am very interested in the development of this and will continue to look for your research on this topic. Thank you!

Any ico is now easiest way to double your money within one month so many ico so many projects that we forget about existing projects people are just pumped and dumping the worthy projects newbie are getting afraid to enter this market because of big whales
ICO's are a fact of life. The blockchain has opened a whole new world for everyone. But ICO's have a relevance only to big players. Steemit is an opportunity for you and everyone to enjoy. The Whales just happened to be the lucky ones who heard about it first and bought it for pennies - right place, right time. But the future for steem is very bright. Steem is going to have many ways to help fund projects. The steemit is just the first of many that will be on Steem.

I think the application of Smart Media Tokens in regards to the film industry may lead to a different method for production. For example, if an independent film maker were seeking financial support for their movie, they could monetize(using ICO's) clips or snippets of the film. Or, in-progress production videos. This, I think, would allow more options for the production to continue moving forward even if they do not have all the funding locked in.
This could be the death knell for the industry to. Being that there are always leaks of information regarding hotly anticipated movies, or high-profile actors taking risks with their characters; like any one of the Joker's from Batman franchise. ICO's may make it easier and more profitable for production staff to capture some unauthorized video and sell them securely to make a personal profit.
Because of the Blockchain-esque structure, films can now release to specific audience types, mainly investors, maybe even an early release? Media can also be released securely and more quickly this way too, no more securing theaters, they are already in our pockets and living rooms, we just need access. Perhaps because of the crypto key security necessary to access the media, and a streamlined and cloud-based service, this may be the final nail in the Movie Theater industry coffin.
