Human Trafficking is not Prostitution.

I have always been the type of person that would read the newspaper or watch the local/national news and shake my head. Once you went down the rabbit hole (pardon the cringe), been red-pilled (cringe), and escape the matrix (cringe overload) It is really hard to see things any other way than what they are: largely overblown, misreported, conflated, misinterpreted, or worst of all: intentionally deceptive.

"Sex Trafficking" is one of those terms for me. Watch the news, read an article, spend any time online and you will come across something speaking to "sex trafficking".

We are at a time in history where social media has fanned the flames of outrage for both good and bad. A lot of information is being passed around that wouldn't have normally without the aid of the connectiveness of the world. The double-edge sword can certainly be weilded for bad, as well.

To me the most dangerous side of the connectiveness is the war on words and meanings. Buzz words can insinuate more than what the base word is. For all the criticisms for the left and feminism (buzz words alert), the one thing that cannot be denied is their ability to not only start the discussion but also force discussion on it and, worse, they can direct the meaning of words to a society.

Something seemingly ridiculous is said by one person or a small group... a fringe minority of thought if you will. The other side responds to it and in doing so grows the discussion creating ripple effects literally across social media. One side defends it, the other side mocks it, and both sides contintue to talk about it until the discussion evolves into a general line of thinking for (seemingly) the majority.

The catch here in my experience is that neither side ever really represent the majority: they are only speaking for the vocal majority. In many cases it seems neither side (even added together) represent the majority of anything.

And that, to me, is where the danger lies. Much like the political climate the minority speaks for the majority.

The difference? Consent.

The above are just some screenshots taken of a google search of "sex trafficking".

The terms for sex trafficking and sex work are conflated so it is no surprise we cannot have a legitimate and truthful conversation with the majority of the population.
