Steemit and the future - What do you think?

I wrote an introduction a few days ago in hopes to get a response and feeling from the community before I began contributing or submitting thoughts in writing. I do that because I am interested to see how people react and what the spirit of the platform is. I am quite accustomed to the mainstream, where there is so much junk it discourages me from saying anything at all. In this case, after getting some comments and perusing through different articles and content I found that people are really interested in coming together and making a great platform and community.

If this is the way of the future and people truly are working together to make the world a more open and free place to share ideas and thoughts more freely; I would like to be a part of that.

As I mentioned in my introductory post, I am here to practice my writing, meet new people, and discuss topics that I think are important or helpful to myself and others.

With all of that being said, I have had a lot of thought recently about the future of Blockchain technologies like Steemit and other services based on it. Specifically, I think of what would become of it in the future and how to manage it as it grows larger and larger.

We already see big content creators moving from other platforms like YouTube to Dtube and social media to Steemit. As more of these large influencers move over and more audience comes in, how does the platform scale and maintain it's essence and spirit?

At the moment, these technologies feel like they are in a pioneering stage. We see people working together, encouraging thought-provoking ideas, sharing experiences and lifestyles openly and met with positive response and respect.

This is a wonderful feeling and experience and has unlimited potential for doing great things. However, my question is, do these phases last? How can we keep the momentum, encourage good behavior and grow into the future?

It reminds me a lot of the time in the 90's when the internet started to grow in popularity. I like being into this in the early days. I like GeoCities back in 1997 but that was closed down. Hopefully Steemit will have a longer lifespan, there's a great incentive to contribute here.

Great comparison, maybe all the lessons we learned over the years will pour into making something great. Thanks for the comment!
