What is true happiness?
True happiness lies in feeling peace within the mind. Happiness can mean different things to different people. However, in the pursuit of happiness, we often lose our humanity. Many of us believe that earning a lot of money brings immense happiness. But is that really true? This is, in fact, an unrealistic notion. Yet, it is also true that without money, one cannot be happy.
That said, it is not wise to be overly fixated on earning excessive amounts of money. You should aim to reach a point where your earnings are sufficient for your needs. Once you achieve this, you should find satisfaction in what you have and consider it enough. True happiness can be felt when you manage to keep your body free from illnesses. There’s a saying: If your body is healthy, you have everything. If you are plagued by illness, you will never truly experience happiness. One problem will lead to another, and your days will pass in discomfort, which is detrimental and distressing for you.
Therefore, you need to engage in activities that help you feel happy and content. At times, you should listen to your heart and act accordingly. This will bring satisfaction and peace of mind. Worry less and feel more. While this may sound awkward, it is true that the more you worry, the more likely you are to fall into depression. Whatever tasks you undertake, find joy in completing them. Through this, you can try to discover happiness within yourself.
Moreover, we often set our expectations too high compared to the effort we put in. Many of us dream big but do not work hard enough to achieve those dreams. As a result, we fall into depression, which is one of the worst situations for us to face.
