Steem Fantasy Premier League - Gameweek 16 Overview

in #steem6 years ago

So, it’s possible to win against Manchester City and hopefully Chelsea great 2-0 win over City makes other teams in the league believe it’s possible for them to do i too. Both Saari and Pep decided to play their “star” wide players as false nines with Eden Hazard and Raheem Sterling leading the lines for their respective clubs. Chelsea suffered a lot in the first half and it could well have been City that scored the first goal. But after N’Golo Kanté’s goal in the end of the first half I think Chelsea were the better team in the second half. Hazard managed two assists after setting up Kantés’ goal and after taking the the corner for Luiz header for 2-0.

In my review I discussed if putting the armband on Mohamed Salah would be clever or not. Thankfully I decided to do it in the end and this really saved my gameweek this time. Salah scored a hat trick in Liverpools’ 4-0 win over Bournemouth. Some of his owners including me were for sure planning on selling him after the trip to the Vitality Stadium but 21 points makes that decision quite difficult.

For those who owns Arsenal assets, particularly Alexandre Lacazette (£9.6m) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.5m) it was a disappointing gameweek even though
Aubameyang got an assist for Arsenals’ winner. Arsenal only had two shots on goal against Huddersfield and my steem pick Lacazette was substituted at half time. He should though has been on the scoresheet, but his perfectly good goal was disallowed when flagged for offside.

Felipe Anderson and Javier Hernandez are the most and second-most-bought FPL midfielder and forward respectively ahead of Gameweek 17 following their double figure scores against Crystal Palace at the weekend. Over the past four Gameweeks, the Hammers rank joint-second for shots in the box and big chances created and all four of West Ham’s attack-minded starting XI (Snodgrass, Anderson, Hernandez and Perez) have delivered at least one double-digit haul in the last three Gameweeks and are currently offering excellent value in the budget-to-mid-price FPL bracket.

Cardiff picked up their third home win in a row thanks to Callum Paterson’s fourth goal of the season. Cardiff 1-0 win also meant a defeat for Ralph Hasenhuttl in his first game in charge of Southampton.

I have been quite negative about Manchester United in recent time but this week they put in a decent performance in their 4-1 win against Fulham. Manchester United plays Liverpool in gameweek 17 but after that they have got a great run of fixtures. If you believe they can catch up some sort of form there are good budget options in the team. For example Ashley Young (12 points), Juan Mata (13p) and Marcus Rashford (14p) were all the big points scorers for Manchester United at the weekend and are all quite affordable options.

Spurs picked up all three points in their 2-0 win over Leicester. Kane, owned by 30 % of the FPL managers, was named as a substitute for the first time in the Premier League this season only entering the field of play with 16 minutes remaining. Insted it was Son whos stole the show with a goal and an assist and 14 FPL points.

In the Monday-night game between Everton and Watford Lucas Digne scored his first goal in an Everton shirt with an injury-time free-kick. Highly owned Richarlison scored his eight goal of the season while another quite popular asset, Gylfi Sigurdsson, ended up on zero FPL points after missing a second-half penalty.

We have a new leader in our Steem Fantasy League after several weeks of dominance by team “Meitanteiteam”. Team“Meitanteiteam” is still just one points behind the new leader on third place in the league table. The new number one team is “Metalheadz”. “Metalheadz” scored 93 points in gameweek 16, a great score on a week when the average score was 55 points. With a 3-men defence and a 5-men midfield consisting of players that all got 6 points of more, it didn’t’ matter if captain Aubameyang “only” got 5 points. “Metalheadz” has now got 1010 points and an overall rank of 18,675. The highest scoring team in our league this gameweek was team “mostafa fathy” with 111 points. With Salah as captain and with Mitrovic the only player who didn’t get any attacking or defending returns this score 100+ score was possible. Thumbs up and well done to both “Metalheadz” and “mostafa fathy”!
