as far as i know i am using my active key. it doesnt come upi with a passowrd error.
Can you show an image of the error? Sounds strange.
I've had a check and this is the error that appears when the Posting key is used. Their shouldn't be any issue with the Active key.
You can view/reset them in https://steemit.com/@dannyshine/permissions, but will need the owner (or I think master) key to 'show'.
