Steemit Friends
On this occasion I am back to participate in week 2 of the contest, Steemit Learning Challenge season 22. This lesson is organized by our teacher @ashkhan. Previously I was very happy to have participated in last week's lesson even though I didn't win. But the interest is still unrelenting with this lesson that is given even makes me have to attend to share understanding and learn again. Hopefully I will be lucky this time.

Because this lesson is not only a competition but also a lesson that I did not encounter in school, this is really interesting and very useful for me in maintaining health. Before continuing at length I would also like to invite several other Steemit friends such as Mr. @walictd, Mr. @irawandedy, Mr. @muzack1 and Mr. @waterjoe, hopefully they can attend and participate here.

Furthermore, I will answer the questions below according to my knowledge and understanding after studying the guide given by our teacher Mrs. @ashkhan.

What is tennis elbow? Write in your own words after gaining knowledge from the lesson post. (Note: do not add any special tests or investigations in this question. Write the answer precisely).

Tennis elbow or lateral epicondylitis is pain that occurs on the outside of the elbow or bone muscles. This often occurs due to a lot of inflammation which involves the muscles and tendons around the area experiencing repeated movement when doing activities that provide movement in the hand or in the wrist area. Tennis Elbow is generally common in someone who plays tennis, but Tennis Elbow is also widely experienced due to other sports activities or can occur by performing repetitive movements, such as typing, lifting goods, or using certain tools.

How is tennis elbow diagnosed? Is there a clinical examination or assessment test?

The diagnosis process is done through general steps by way of clinical evaluation by a doctor. There are several methods used in the diagnosis process, including medical history, physical examination, optional speciation tests, and additional examinations if needed. In the medical history, of course, the doctor will ask a patient about what he experienced that aggravated the pain, the doctor will also ask if he has had a previous injury.

A physical examination will also be carried out on the outside of the elbow in order to find where the pain point is. Not only that, the doctor will also ask the patient to move the wrist or arm against the pressure to confirm whether the pain outside the elbow really leads to the possibility of tennis elbow.

If several such methods are still insufficient, the medical staff will also proceed with other methods. The doctor will request imaging tests such as X-rays, ultrasound, and MRI to assess for fractures, arthritis, and muscle or tendon ruptures, respectively. However, if there are no other underlying indications, then the diagnosis is only sufficient with a clinical examination.

Of the exercises provided by the Physical Therapy Intervention: Tennis Elbow, I have done three of them. Here is my video:

This is a finger stretching exercise, which can be done in a seated state where one hand is resting on a table or leaning somewhere like in my video. This exercise is easier to do seated. Here I am doing it with my right hand and assisted by my left hand to rest on the palm of the right hand that is practicing. This exercise is done on several finger wrists with a count of three times in a slow manner, starting from the palm of the hand to the tip of the muscle as a whole all fingers.

Wrist Flexor Stretch, which is very important for us in balancing pain and increasing the length of shortened muscles. I do this exercise also in an upright sitting position, then I stretch one right hand forward in a horizontal position, after which I use the help of my left hand to press the right palm and fingers backwards in a slow manner.

Wrist Isometric Exercises. This exercise covers several different positions on the wrist as I did in the video above. In the seated position, I placed my hand somewhere on the table instead of the table, and then I used a cloth as a support. After placing my right hand on the table properly, I use my left hand on top of it and press gently and slowly. Then I turned my right palm up and did the same thing slowly. Next, I grasp the fingers of the right hand that are located under the left hand and press down slowly at the same time, so the next step I repeat again, but the position of the right hand is on top while the left hand is carried.

Share your reviews after performing these exercises either on yourself, healthy individuals, or patients.

I have been doing this exercise on myself and it is a great relief to have all my fingers and wrists feeling light and free of muscle soreness.

First is the finger stretching exercise which looks quite easy to do, after I do this exercise I can feel directly on the muscles of the fingers, which used to feel tense then became better and not stiff. Not only felt in the fingers but the wrist also felt relieved. I think this exercise is also very good to apply every day in the morning.

In the Wrist Flexor Stretching exercise, I can feel directly how the muscles change after finishing the exercise, from the beginning like tense and stiff after training it feels so light and free from the pains that bind in the muscles. Not only did I feel it in my wrists, but my shoulders also felt better afterward. Imagine after I've gone through various activities that cause movement in all the wrists repeatedly, of course this will make the muscles feel sore. And this exercise really helps me in maintaining hand balance and health.

Wrist Isometric Exercises, This exercise makes my hands fitter and better after doing it. When the hand is grasped and receives pressure from the other hand I enjoy a sense of relief like receiving additional force on the grasped fingers. All the muscles of the fingers and wrist become lighter and relieved. It even makes me feel lighter when making subsequent movements in my activities.

This lesson is really useful for everyone and especially myself in maintaining hand balance from the wrist to the muscles of the hand. I would like to thank our teacher @ashkhan for sharing this useful lesson this week.

Thank you to all my friends who have come to read my writing. Sorry for all the shortcomings of the knowledge I provide here. Greetings @cymolan

Thank you for understanding the lesson and sharing your assignment; I hope that you will enjoy this week's lesson and try to implement it in your life if you see any such case.

Observations

Task 1 (2.3/3)
You have shared good knowledge about tennis elbow, its symptoms, cause, but didn't add it's types. Also a bit more explanation require about symptoms and causes. I appreciate your effort.

Task 2 (2.4/3)
In the second question, you tell us about how you have to assess a patient by doing physical examination, history taking, and investigations. But didn't add it's special tests. It would be better to add explanation of special tests. Good.

Task 3 (3.6/4)
You try the finger stretches, wrist flexor stretch, and wrist isometric exercises. You did the finger stretches, wrist isometric exercises correctly. But in wrist flexors stretch, you have to place your hand in the middle of the other hand for better stretch as the hand is bending more, and flexors will not get enough stretch. Always remember to apply heat pack in chronic condition and ice pack in acute condition before performing exercises to relax the muscles and reduce stiffness. I appreciate your efforts.

Overall you made a great attempt to answer all the questions. I appreciate your efforts. But next time try to avoid the above written suggestions. Keep learning and try to implement your knowledge to the people suffering from tennis elbow or any type of wrist. Thank you.

Terimakasih

Dear@cymolan
Well done! It is clear to see how exercises are used to manage tennis elbow from here. This text step by step breakdown helps a lot—this topic is best inserted as a frequently returned to one.”

¡Saludos amigo!🤗
