Try by Colbie Cailat, is one of the meaningful songs that I came across among the pop hits. Its hard to find songs with meaningful lyrics nowadays haha . Above video is an open mic performance I did with my guitarist friend, Scott years back.
This is a song telling us to not try so hard to change ourselves to fit in to the society. In this song, its specifically about external appearances.
I've came across people who blindly follow the fashion trend or succumbed by peer pressure, till they lose themselves throughout the process.
Sometimes, girls tend to change their external appearances to impress & to be likeable to everyone. Well its not totally wrong about that, but while they are busy dealing with their external world which in return hoping everyone to like them, they may forgot to ask their internal self....
"Do I like the me now?"
How often do we ask ourselves this? What is the point when I am likeable to everyone, but not to myself? We can say yes to every fashion trend, but if its not something we like or comfortable with, then the "change" loses it main purpose.

I LOVE this! I already loved this song, and your voice completely did it justice and then some! I'm bummed the video faded before the crowd reacted - I'm betting you got a ton of applause considered 1) you NAILED it! and 2) the crowd was noisy & distracted in the beginning, but after a verse or two, you could tell you had their attention! Oh, and nice choice to add the occasional onscreen lyric to video, emphasising the message. Brava, @michelleloh168!
