not really a difficult instrument, just the style of playing make it quite difficult than others. I play the cuk with 3 nylon strings. the tune is base on first 3 guitar strings G B E. Also without violin the feel of keroncong will drop.
it’s considered a folk instrument? I’m sure the style will take some getting used to if one doesn’t listen to it often. but it’s cool that you’re continuing/passing down culture through music :)
yeah amongst folk instrument because Keroncong began in 16th century. Yeap, because the characteristics of its own style make it feel different and evergreen than others. I continuing down culture through music since I was in a high school. I used to take all the oppurtunities to learn all style of music that I can grab.
