Hi there, newbie here

Hello Steemit community! You can refer to me as marmalade, or just mar for short. My lecturer recommended this website to me and my classmates and so, here i am introducing myself. I'm currently studying for an Animation degree at Multimedia University (MMU) and i just started my first trimester.

I've always loved to draw even at a young age, and has always received the support to carry out my hobby. However, pursuing my hobby as a career? That seems to be crossing the line, don't you think? -is what I imagined how my parents thought as i answered their question on what i wanted to pursue after school was over.

Being an exceptionally smart student, I managed to snag a scholarship in Multimedia. My parents couldn't refuse and I finally got to pursue what I wanted.

Moving on, I was highly influenced by my sisters to draw, who loves drawing as well. We were inspired by animes like Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura. We also loved Disney movies a lot and had almost all of the VHS tapes. We loved playing video games as well, especially RPG games like Kingdom Hearts and the Final Fantasy series.

However, a turning point in my life was when I watched a 3D animated movie, specifically Frozen by Disney, and was completely in awe of how detailed the animation is. I watched it and thought, I want to do those things.

Well, enough about me. Continuing on to what I actually draw from time to time. I love drawing details, particularly flowers. I prefer drawing lineart, and I'm still unfamiliar with colouring. I love sketching with pencil, and I usually draw to convey how i feel. I typically draw when I'm down in the dumps.
