Creator-Guilds Contest Catgirl (Nekomimi) Entry!
Here to introduce you my very old OC, Katie Romuro!
Wow I can't believe I remember her full name, I made her 11 years ago! And since @aranda decided to make a catgirl drawing challenge :
I thought it would be nice to revive one of my few first original character, who I made when I was 9. Oh if only there was an old drawing I could show right now, the difference would be amazing to see. Sadly, all my old drawings are at home.
Anyway, Katie is a very special kind of catgirl, her cat ears change based on the type of emotions she feels!
She had like a bunch more for each emotion. I even made list last time. She and a few other characters were in this story called Cat Family and I made so many of the series. It never got an ending because I was still a kid and didn't know what I was doing XD Still, it was really fun times, and if I ever got the chance I'll definitely show the comic books here.
DRAWING PROCESS GIF
STEP BY STEP DRAWING PROCESS
STEP 1 : SKETCH
Sketched out the 3 different emotions that Katie can feel.
STEP 2 : OUTLINING
Tried a different kind of outlining here, where the end points of the lines are darker than the rest.
STEP 3 : SHADING
I determined the light source and started colouring in grayscale first. To be honest I like this version more than the coloured one ^^
STEP 4 : COLOURING
This time, the way colouring style I tried out in my previous tutorial didn't quite work out. So further investigation is required of this colouring style XD
And there you have it! Thanks for the more anime-themed contest @aranda !!!!
I actually haven't drawn in this anime style in a long while. Hope you guys like it.
