The journey of me drawing Hatsune Miku for Miku Expo Malaysia 2017!!
Hello internet, today I would like to show you how I getting my ideas to draw Hatsune Miku artwork for Miku Expo T Shirt Contest as I mentioned on my last post.
This is the contest that i joined.
- But first, who is Hatsune Miku?
Hatsune Miku (Japanese: 初音ミク), sometimes referred to as Miku Hatsune, is a humanoid persona voiced by a singing synthesizer application developed by Crypton Future Media. Hatsune Miku is a 16-year-old girl with long, turquoise twintails.
And she cute XD
- What are driving me to draw her?
As a longtime fan of Hatsune Miku, it’s like you draw your own favorite idol. I have been followed her from 2008, 1 year after she debut herself as a form of virtual idol. I was amazed about how Japan could made such an amazing software that able to sing virtually. Then, she held a hologram concert and again she amazed me with that technologies. That’s one of the reason why I kept follow her and hear her songs.
Oh yeah, I would recommend a song named “Tell your world”, composed by livetune. It’s a great song if you haven’t heard any of her song.
Back to the drawing, as this is the first time Hatsune Miku ever performed at Malaysia. I think It should have Malaysian elements on this drawing.
After I made a research, I think I should include a Malaysia flag and make the last SEA Games as the background of the drawing.
The 2017 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 29th Southeast Asian Games and commonly known as Kuala Lumpur 2017 was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event that took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
I think this would be great as it has the feel of sport and it is the event of the year in Malaysia.
For the Miku, i fall in love with the chibi-like artwork while I listening her song, Triple Baka. The music video show the chibi-like art style.
Its too cute.
- How about her cloth?
Should I choose a traditional Malaysian cloth or should I choose her original cloth? I choose her original cloth because it is her iconic style. Change her style would make her little bit weird.
And now I should take out my drawing tablet and draw some stuff XD
Tadaa, there she is. The mighty Hatsune Miku at her glorious form waving Malaysian flag.
Then I submit my drawing to the organizer hoping that my drawing will be accepted.
Spoiler : I didn’t win.
However my drawing still being display at Miku Expo Illustration during the concert day. I’m feel very happy at that time. It feel that my work being appreciated by someone.
Thank you so much for having your time to read my post and also thank you to Hatsune Miku and friends for coming to Malaysia. Please come again soon and also, Happy 10th Birthday anniversary Hatsune Miku!
abam nih pro ah XD
Ayyy thanks :)
