Jokes aside, just a few days ago, #Steem-Cartoon had created a new logo for the community. With the new logo, @perennial had created a contest with a theme, Fantasy.

It's my first entering a contest to be honest, kinda nervous about it. I've seen a lot of contest before, but I've never entered because I don't think I'm qualify at the time. Still think so, but there's no point in drawing if you didn't have someone to judge to improve your drawing. So, here I am, posting for the Wo-Owl Contest.

Though I used to do requests few years ago in deviantart, but that's quite a long time ago and my skill got a bit rust since then.

Welp, without a further due, as usual, here's a few progress that I'm gonna show for the drawing.

Sketch

• I've been having a bit of trouble on deciding what to draw. Since the theme is Fantasy, there is a lot that can be interpreted as Fantasy. Magic, Floating City, Mythical Creature etc. And I've decided on dragon since it's more common in a Fantasy setting, and also RPG games.

Line Art

• I've tried a different Line Art than I used to. This one is a grunge in which the line art is a bit spread out, compared to a brush line.

Base

• I based the dragon and the girl to avoid messing the color going out of the line art.

Color Base

• The color that I choose for both dragon and the girl. I wanted the girl to look like a village girl so I chose blue and white like a common village girl in a rpg I played before.

Shading

• A light shading since I wanted the setting to be in a grassy plain. Also I wanted to make the drawing more bright and cheerful.

Lighting

• A bit of lighting just to make it more brighter.

Final

-I include a bit of drawing just to make the background more interesting instead of a plain one. A bit of adjustment and done!! Here's the final drawing!

I used a different method of coloring since I really wanted to try a new different style of coloring. The one that I used before is pretty decent, but because I'm still having a bit of hard time coloring the background, I've decided to try different style of coloring.
