RE: Self-voting user list since HF19 - PART 2 (comments)

in #statistics7 years ago (edited)

How am i taking money out of the platform? I completely stopped self-voting which almost nobody is doing yet. It also took me 4 days to create the database that produced this data. It's valuable content, not everyone is a programmer you know.

The disclaimer clearly states that it's just a data dump so it's for you to decide what's abuse and what's not. You are highly overreacting, we're progressing towards a solution. It's a way more difficult problem than you think.

Sort:

You are withdrawing Steem from the platform.

This is a difficult problem, we can definitely agree on that.

Data dump that is called Top 10 Selfishness?

Withdrawing STEEM from the platform how exactly are you referring to?

I added the top 10 for convenience, people would be curious about that and most people don't have the technical know-how to do it themselves. Selfishness is just the name of the statistic. It's the percentage of SBD rewarded to themselves compared to the totally distributed SBD by that person.

Withdrawing via Blocktrades/etc. ...taking Steem out of your account and into an exchange.

Oh, yeah i'm a content creator so i don't think anyone has any objections to that. As long as i keep creating content the net result is profit for the platform in the form of perceived value. The problem lies with people that aren't content creators and aren't otherwise contributing to the platform (whoever they may be).

I have objections to you doing it.

But you're just being a dick so i'm not going to take that seriously.

It's fine, I know I"m over reacting so probably not getting my point across the best way. My point is just that you're stuck on 1 small aspect of what you think is hurting the platform...when it's not your place to make that decision for everyone. Also, your approach to solving the problem does more harm than good.

It's not a decision, it's a conclusion. SteemIt won't succeed when you make more money when you vote on yourself than when you vote on others.

I don't know if you're for example familiar with bots in MMORPG games like World of Warcraft, but once large groups of similar people learn about SteemIt, this platform is gone overnight. If people do everything to cheat in games, they will try even harder when there's money to be made.

If your top priority was the steem ecosystem and making things fair wouldnt you want to hold your steem power and give back to everyone by upvoting others? Is taking profits from your post and exiting at every chance good for the system? Just wondering. I dont upvote my comments or think it should be allowed but i do believe that you have found a nerve with alot of people and are using it to make a quick buck as well.
