Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz made this prediction during a conference on Thursday, where he hinted at the giant global coffee chain; Starbucks, is considering accepting payments with cryptocurrencies.

Schultz said the coffee chain plans to incorporate blockchain technology and digital currencies into its long-term payment methods, and hopes to "expand digital relationships with customers."

However, Schultz does not believe that Bitcoin plays a role in this strategy, and said he did not believe that the original cryptocurrency was "a currency today or in the future". With BTC offstage, we have some solid reasons that lead us to believe that Litecoin (LTC) is a serious contender.

The former owner of the Seattle Supersonics stressed that Starbucks does not intend to launch its own digital currency, as Kodak and Burger King in Russia have done in recent months.

Instead, he said that the growing interest of consumers in digital payment options makes it necessary for companies like Starbucks to anticipate the future behavior of the consumer.

Currently, the company is testing its first store without money, which is located in Seattle. In it, customers consume and pay only with their smartphones.

We still do not know exactly which currencies will be marketed on the platform, but at least LTC is currently on the encryption alert list that it can perform.
