Stand With Gaza

When I opened this Steemit account, I never wanted it to be political but now I feel like I have no choice. As of the latest numbers, over 60 peaceful Palestinian protestors have been killed at the Gaza border. The youngest was an eight month old infant who died of tear gas inhalation. Thousands more have been injured. These numbers are only since Monday. Over the last 70 years, the Palestinians have lost their country, their homes, their livelihoods. They have been forcefully imprisoned in open air prisons in Gaza and the West Bank. They have been oppressed, marginalized, and dehumanized. These protests are all they have left and they’re being killed. What’s worse, they’re being virtually ignored by the rest of the world. My conscience won’t let me keep my mouth shut anymore. Today, I’m asking anyone who reads this to remember your humanity and the humanity of those around you. Stand with those who are oppressed and marginalized, not just around the world, but in your own back yard.
