Stacking Goals for the New Year

in #stackingoals7 years ago

I’ve been stacking Gold and Silver since 2015 and just like my experience here with STEEM it took me a little while to figure things out and come up with a strategy that suited my goals. I’ve now got a bit of a system and so when @silvergoldbotty announced a new Contest for stacking goals in the New Year using the tag #stackingoals it prompted me to check and see what I’ve got on the shopping list for 2018. I guess you could say I have 3 main goals as a stacker for this year.

1. Fill Gap in 1/10oz Gold Lunar Collections

goldlunars.jpg

I started buying the semi-numismatic Gold Lunar coins from the Perth Mint Australia initially because they look like really cool coins with a changing design every year. They do a 12 year series and the current one started in 2008 and will finish in 2019. I started out just buying recent years and then found myself working backwards in time. I’m building 2 sets and the only coins I’m missing are the Lunar Mouse from 2008 – which I have since learned is the Key Date for the series and commands a bit of a premium. I need 2 of them if anyone has any good leads to pick these up at a reasonable price I’ll pay a finder fee!

2. Add 100 x 1oz Silver Rounds

Some people prefer bars or coins with a nominal fiat value, but for whatever reason I like the 99.99% purity Silver Rounds. They look nice and they’re a good size to handle or trade and I don’t really care if there is no government appointed fiat value on them because I’m buying them for the metal with a skinny premium. I’ve bought mainly Buffalos and Pegasus but I have the odd Libertad, ABC Eureka Medal and of course some STEEM Silver Rounds. I’ve got room for another 100 rounds which I’d like to add this year.

3. Extend Existing Semi-Numi Collections

10ozlunars.jpg

I’ve got some semi-numismatic collections going which I’ll continue to add to when their respective 2018 coins come out. 1oz Silver Koalas, Kookaburras, Lunars and Pandas are all a bit of a must-buy for me each year, plus of course the Gold Lunars previously mentioned. I also have a collection of 10oz Silver Lunars which is probably my favourite. There is something about those huge coins I really like the feel of and if you like the coin designs there is no better way to explore the intricate details. I like looking at them so much I haven’t been able to put them in secure storage yet and don’t think I ever will.

So those are my stacking goals for 2018. Goal #2 I will probably buy on the secondary market from www.silverstackers.com and Goal #3 will most likely come direct from the coin dealers, but I don’t know where or how I’ll complete my Goal #1. Lucky I’ve got 12 months to figure that out!

Best Wishes for your Stacking Goals in 2018!

Cool idea! Do you buy this locally? Any ways to buy this overseas that can be trusted? I would like to get a new hobby too when I get success in the crypto-industry.

Most of my stuff I have bought on www.silverstackers.com or from a handful of bullion/coin shops in Sydney, Australia. So yes, I get them locally. But you can buy overseas and get insurance on your delivery. I once got some coins from Czechoslovakia and the seller was really cool about it an sent first and I paid him on delivery. That's the great thing about using the SilverStackers site because everything there is reputation based (like Steemit)

Good to know! Thank you. I've checked the site and it's like a forum. I'll dig in deeper once I have actually stacked up good profits here and there. Have a great day!

Great goals man!

Failing to plan is planning to fail, and you my friend are planning to have a very successful year!

Cheers! And Happy New Year!

Thanks mate. I think we all are going to have a very successful year. Something tells me that we are in exactly the right place at exactly the right time ;)

Very well presented coins. Never been a collector myself but that may change in the coming years. Good luck trying to find those rarer ones mate.

Thanks. Never say never. You might end up a stacker one day ;)

Thanks to your great post's i have decided to start stacking again.
I have been trying to get into crypto but australian banks are stopping us. So next logical thing is silver as we use it in everything, value should only go up.This time dont think i will be buying pictured bars and coins, as silver is only worth what its worth. Sure there great to look at but in a pinch you get scre###.

But thanks again for helping bring the passion back.

Wow, that's really cool to hear that you're getting back into it.

The big Aussie banks are being tough on crypto traders but I'm keen on hooking up with one of the smaller banks or credit unions. Have a read of @nolnocluap blog, he's been talking about it a bit and if someone figures it out soon I'm sure he'll be onto it.

I hoping prypto.com is back up and running soon this looks promising. One of my freinds seems to be able to blueshyft funds through coinspot, But they have totaly locked mine. This seems strange, but he has always done it that way, where I always Bpay. Ours best option is @steemit A.T.M

Ohh and I do follow and upvote @nolnocluap it is one of my favorite blogs. I have a good freind called nolan which is what drew me to this blog to start with.

Will do.
Lucky for me I have a silver and gold dealer in my home town. So i can start to buy with out shipping cost this time.

I'm really impressed. How do you get the silver or gold Steem coins? I'd love to pick up a couple of those.

Do you know if it's possible to buy silver and gold with crypto? It would be nice to convert my litecoin to something like a little gold or silver bar.

The STEEM coins came out a couple of months back. I wrote a bit about my experience on my blog HERE which pretty much explains it all.

As for buying PMs with crypto, I have done that on www.silverstackers.com in the cryto trading thread, but also I think Ainslee Bullion and KJC both accept crypto now in Australia.

Dayumn!! That Semi-Numi Collection.. I think Im drooling!

So would those Aus lunar set have the queen's head at the back of it?

Yep! But who wants to look at the queens head, LOL. The designs are much nicer.

I was actually thinking of you when I was writing about those 10oz Lunars and taking those photos because I KNOW you would appreciate the designs :)

Yeh bro I dig them alright. They are beautiful! 👌👌

And yeh I don't wanna look at her mug! Wish they'd put another design on the other side.

So many coins I've passed on cos of the head thing lol

Nice goals bossman. I have all the gold lunars except the mouse and ox, I ain't paying the super crazy premiums on em tho..but I didnt buy a box lol The tiger is my favorite, one of my fav gold pieces of all time actually because I love cats! I have it in the 1/4, 3 of the 1/10s and the 1/20. Good luck with your search and your goals 😎

Thanks man. I admit I paid a bit of a premium on the Ox and it hurts as I'm normally a low premium guy. I think the Dragon is my favourite because I was always into mythical fantasy stuff when I was a kid. (Who am I kidding, I'm still just a big kid :p)

Looks like some great goals man! Those gold lunars are amazing well done almost finishing them, I'll keep my eyes pealed for a 2008 mouse.

Thanks man. I appreciate it.

Bugged, 100 ounces bullion, a lil' bit of gold, and a few semi -numis is a heck of a goal. Good luck!

Thanks. What can I say? I like to practise what I preach :)

Great goals! Wish you luck on finding the '08 lunar mouse... the ones that you have are frickin beautiful! I'll see if I can find one.

Thanks. I think I am going to need some luck and all the help I can get!
