Stop child abuse and domestic violence

The issue of child abuse and domestic violence has been an aged long problem in the society and until we stand together against it, innocent people will continue to suffer from it. In the course of my study i was opportune to join my colleagues in a sensitization program on CHILD ABUSE AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE at AKPAN NDEM MARKET located in UYO, AKWA IBOM STATE, NIGERIA. The ordeal of child abuse and domestic violence is really heart breaking in this part of the world. Some children are tagged "witch" and for that they are deprive of food, shelter and cloths. Most of them sleep under bridges, in markets and road side etc. Some women are being sexually harassed. Before i continue let me share my experience at the market place, after moving from shop to shops educating people on the issue of child abuse and domestic violence, entertaining questions from market men and women, i was able to deduce the basic reason for the increasing rate of child abuse and domestic violence in this part of the world. 80 percent of this is caused by "poverty". When some families are incapable of providing for their children, they send them to the street, resulting to begging, stealing, being sexually abuse etc. Many are displaced, they don't have where to stay and this exposes the children and women to different dangers, lack of health facilities also contribute...and the list goes on and on and on. The question now is what can you do in your capacity as an individual, groups to stop child abuse and domestic violence in the world? people are suffering, your support can go along way in ameliorating their sufferings and thereby making the world a better place to live. Together we can stop this menace in the world. SAY NO TO CHILD ABUSE AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
