The Girl-child Must Be Educated

A song comes to mind as I put this into writing. It goes thus:
Leave leave leave leave the girl oh
Make she go to school
Make she no mumu
Leave leave leave leave the girl oh
Education na the key to life

Dear Steemians,

The importance of female education can never be overemphasized. The girl-child today is the mother of tomorrow. When we educate a girl, we educate a whole nation.

It hurts to know that majority of Africans, Nigerians most especially still have preference for the male-child. An average African man without a male child is unfulfilled. He ensures he gets a male by all means. He channels all his resources in the boys education paying little or no attention to his girls.

Why is this so? Are we less of humans? This discrimination has to stop. We can attain the greatest height only if you give us just a little support. Give us an equal chance to strive. Education is empowerment. EMPOWER THE GIRL-CHILD TODAY.
