Leadership was never a reach for aging neither was it specifically for the
youth. Leadership was always a role for the transparent, capables and just personalities.
Nigeria upon its complaints on bad leadership and unaccountability style of the then military or vast dictatorship set of rule, chose to move to the path of free-will of the people which was a word called "DEMOCRACY".
The democratic rule has earned its prospective 18 years and the subjected supposed power to the people has remain questionable.
The cargo way has always been the usual "I promise to do bla, bla," in the sovereign. It either each government or regime promotes a factor and it's progressive but the remaining factors that has been needed to make a better Nigeria remains vast or forgotten.
A politician once said, "The young are not ready to rule, why should they be given power?", but the facts remains the aged or aging has failed Nigerians in every common factors to make a better Nigeria.
It is of my gladity that i write of a man who belongs to a nomenclature i respect by his due acts.
Knowing or hearing about the rock behind the saucing reporting group, Sahara Reporters inc., Omoyele Sowore was far back to his days of University of Lagos, Akoka where he served as the Head and President of its Students Union Government.
Omoyele Sowore as the then President of UNILAG was a reckoning force in the student unionism of Nigeria whose government started off as a just advocate of anti-corruption.
Sowore was a participant of the 1989 protest against the International Monetary Fund IMF agency's plan to pay $120 million for the creation of a pipeline in a bid to reduce the Nigerian universities from 28 to 5.
Sowore continued his journey as a strong activist when he led over 2,000 students in 1992 where they staged protests against the kangaroo rule of the dictators in government. These protests didn't go well as 7 were killed and Sowore was arrested, detained and tortured.
Sowore was one of the primed factor along with other dignatories such Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo amongst others who requested for the birth of democratic rule in Nigeria.
As a result of his stance as an advocate of student activism, Omoyele Sowore was expelled twice where he had to spend 6 years instead of 4. He later travelled to Colombia where he held a masters degree.
Omoyeni Sowore started Sahara Reporters inc. in a small building at the hub of Manhattan in U.S.A and upon expansion moved to New York. Sahara Reporters became favourite and popular when they released details and pictures of Nigeria's very known "underwear bomber", Farouk Abdulmutallab who attempted to blow up a Northwest airline 203 in the United states using plastic bomb.
Sahara Reporters remains Nigeria's number one citizen journalism agency that brings stories of bad deeds, corruption, political misconduct and human right abuses.
OMOYELE SOWORE had gone into rift with many politicians for the bad deeds in an effect to produce a transparent government.
OMOYELE SOWORE has in the past exposed many corrupt senators, lawmakers amongst others.
OMOYELE SOWORE has stood as a real advocate of the prime fight against abuses of fundamental human right.
OMOYELE SOWORE was participant of red-fired protest that saw the still existence of Nigerian universities and rejected an oil pipeline.
OMOYELE SOWOLE was an advocate of the democratic tule that saw him arrested and tortured.
OMOYELE SOWORE is just 47,an age limit that saw the production of former USA President, Barrack Obama.
OMOYELE SOWORE has shown his transparency, capabilities and just acts.
If you do not know, then know power is a gift whose possession belongs only to the masses and electorates.
