CAN THE ISSUE OF CULTISM BE ADDRESSED IN NIGERIA.
Cultism has become a dangerous monster ravaginging the life of our youths and teenagers. These youths are full of vision and ideas that can be of great help to mankind.
In todays post we will examine the dangers of cultism and its effects.
Lets start by defining what is cultism.
Cultism can be defined as an anti-social or deviant group of people who have unusual religious beliefs and whose activities contravenes the norms or social rules of an institution that is meant to provide education for such individual. The membership, admission, policy and initiation formalities as well as their mode of operation are done in secret and kept secret with their activities having negative effects on both members and non-members.
DANGERS OF CULTISM
It leads to loss of lives and properties. Cultism has led to deaths the lives of many young nigerians. In a year, atleast five thousand nigerians dies in cult related issues.
** INTIMIDATION**
the society is in danger with the kind of cultist movement in the area. People no longer talk as a result of fear of death. Peoples right are trampled upon as a result of intimidation and the innocent children are pushed into this evil as a result of intimidation.
** SEX AND ILLICIT DRUGS**
Cultists are engaged in unprotective sex and illicit drugs which is very bad to health.
ARM ROBBERY AND THUGGERY
Politicans uses this people to achieve their wicked aim.
The issue of cultism is so much that even the government are also guilty of it.
Many politicians, bank managers, security agents and captain of industries are cult members.
These are the people that supppose to do something about it but their hands are chained with the chain of cultism.
WHAT IS THE WAY OUT
The only way out is for all these people involved in this act to openly renounce it syarting fron the oga on the top to the aboki at the gate.
My reader, for you to become a successful leader and prosperous in life, you must eun away from cultism. Renounce it if you are already in this mess. Surrender your life to Jesus and invite Him into your life. 2cor 5:21.
Discussing issues like this always brings me back to the subject matter of knowledge and proper education..
The first Confraternity in Nigeria was founded in the University of Ibadan By Prof. Woke Soyinka among other seven people. The reason for the formation of this society was to foster academic excellence, fight tribalism, nepotism, social stratification, foster brotherhood, etc.
Looking at these groups today, they have deviated from the original plan but rather break every law and standard that they represent.
Youths of our day need to be properly enlightened so they don't fall into the trap called 'cultism'in this generation.
