He was wearing a ash colour pencil trousers well ironed with crease, A multi Coloured stripe T-shirt, a well knot vintage tie and a well polished black shoe to match. His hair was well brushed and shinning from the hair cream he must have applied on it. He was tall with a nice physique. A definition Of any lady's TDH. This young man had a suitcase on his right hand and was hurrying off to the park to get a public transport to work. While he was walking pass a small kiosk, he noticed a showcase in front filled with snacks. He decided to get some as he had nothing to eat before leaving the house.

"Madam please give me two sausage and one can drink" he requested. The owner of the kiosk was a woman probably in her mid forties. She looked so unkempt with her wrapper that looked like she hadn't washed it in months. Her hair was unbrushed and looked dirty. She had lali painted roughly on her fingers. "Which kain drink brother?" She asked. He felt reluctant to go ahead with the purchase because he got irritated by the dirt but he was here already so he reconsidered and said "Sprite".

She gave him the things and he handed her a thousand naira note "Kosi changi" she uttered sternly. "Biliki" she called out, she wanted her daughter to help look for change but when she got no response in return she gave him N200 note to hold as she hurried off in search of change to complete his balance. He looked at his wrist watch and grumbled to himself "I'm running late, what's keeping this woman?" The park was not far away and he could hear horns of cars and danfo. "Cele, Mile 2" the conductor announced.. " Wọle, Wọle! Enter with your change" He was heading to Mile 2,he decided to leave the change and enter the bus.

Just as he was approaching the danfo, about 5 steps away from entering, he heard a voice screaming "olè oooo" The woman ran up to him with other touts running alongside with her holding woods and planks and asking " ibo lo wa". There was brouhaha everywhere, before he could blink she pointed at him and said "eyi ni olè" Before he could even understand what was going on,one agberho brushed him off the floor and started beating him. The other touts and area boys started flogging him with whatever they can get hold of. While he was on the floor screaming "No….. I'm not a thief, No. "the woman was busy raining insults on him and explaining to the crowd . "Ole buruku ni ọkunrin yii, him buy kini from Me, I sey make i go look for Changi give am,before i come my N3,000 under my showglass don disappear." She demonstrated as she explained. They beat him brutally and stripped him off his clothes.. "Search the man" one man said. Meanwhile he was already bleeding on the floor. They searched his clothes and found N3,000 notes in one of his pocket,an ATM card and N500 in another. "So na so dem dey wear clean clothes dey carry suitcase about dey thief abi, Awon cooperate thief le leyii" "Make we burn Am" Another man said. Touts, children and passersby started caterwauling.

Before you could say "Jack Robinson" the expensive and always scarce commodity was brought out including tyre and matches. The young man on the floor tried explaining, crying and screaming that he wasn't a thief but they put the tire round his neck and set him ablaze. He wept, wailed, screamed and gnashed his teeth to death. They watched him as he got burnt to ashes. Suddenly a Young girl of about age fifteen ran to the crowd screaming "Iya mi, They sey you dey find the N3,000 under the showglass, I pick am commot put for inside store because where you keep am no good.. See am" she brought out the N3,000. The woman put her hand on her head and sat down on the floor screaming "Jesu!" The crowd was in commotion as they realised that they just killed an innocent man.

This is just Fiction but it happens everyday in our country. Let us stop jungle justice and save innocent lives.
