That kiss sure felt like the last one

As I turned and walked to the door

My heart beat stopped...

Through the darkness you walked with me

Even when your heart was right in your mouth

Like the wind we were free and laughed till nature echoed the
sound of our love

We listened to the rhymes played by the crickets

While the light flies directed us on the path that seemed right

You held me through the cold days and nights

You went dry just to fill me up

I hate it when you walk through that door

Though expensive and rare yet I fear you would never come back the same

I caused you so much pain

You scolded me yet I was stubborn but remorseful

You took the extra miles to see that glow in my eyes

Every time you smiled at me

Now I have to learn how to love without you

I hate that you always had to be the one to fix everything

My efforts looked useless and irrelevant

I waited for you to say the words but you were waiting too long

That kiss was a goodbye kiss

Those tears broke my heart too

If I truly love you then I should let you move on

But I had not made it through the door

When I realized you had the keys

I turned and stared into those eyes
