I no longer do much sport but the sport I love most is cycling. I cycle as much and when I can but also love to watch the big professional cycle tours as there are the Giro (Italy), the Tour de France and The Vuelta (Spain) in chronological order.

And the Giro has started already.

This year the start was in Italy - which is not at all common last years - and all mountains are packed into the last week. So no testing for the riders one or two days, no they have to be perfect the last six days in a row to win the general classification.

Why is the jersey for the numero 1 pink ?

The leader of the pack rides in a pink jersey. Why? This is related to the historic sponsor of the Giro which is the sport paper La Gazetta della Sport which is printed on pink coloured paper.

With doping banned almost completely I hope to see a competative race especially in teh last week. Mountaisn still covered with snow and lot's of drama is what I look forward to. Dumoulin and Roglic are my favorites.

Everyday on Eurosport television. For the USA I do not know…..
