Let me tell you a little story.....

Having just read @dreemsteem's plea for Steemians to help make the Spunkee Monkee dreem-seed a reality, I feel compelled to share the story behind the story. 5 days? only 5 dollars!!!

Just how did Spunkee Monkee slip out of the beautiful mind of @dreemsteem?

Now, everyone knows she is a whirlwind of ideas and inspiring stories, but what some may not know is that she lives her words and acts on them - especially when it comes to children and making a positive difference (which is at the core of what makes dreemie...well, dreemie!). She's infectiously inspiring, don't you think?!

She's that, "What if 'we' _____" kind of person but while you're still thinking over her words and ideas, she's already out there making it happen - She's already written a story about it, made several posts, gone on the discord interview circuit, raised support while you're still mulling it over. She'll flitter back in and say, "Hey! I did it! You're going to love this so let's get this going!"

Sponkee Monkee's was born out of a dreem held together with all that makes dreemsteem's heart soar - children! That was 3 years ago.

In a recent conversation, @Dreemsteem brought this up in her normal whirlwind of excitement, "What if 'we' ______" She saw it in its complete form as if already a living, breathing project.

Mulling it over, I 'gently' suggested that 'perhaps' my programmer husband could help out and by that evening...true to form...we found ourselves engulfed in the Spunkee Monkee dreem flitting around in our conversation like fireflies in the forest of inspiration. blink, blink

Inspiration is contagious!

So inspired by the heart and idea behind Spunkee Monkee, we asked our son if he'd like to help test the idea out for a month with a few other families eager to participate.

Even though in its very basic form, embarking on the Alpha run of Spunkee Monkees was an instant success in our house. Being child-lead, it sparked so many ideas and discussions within our own family from positive habits to writing and sharing of interests. Having the other children and their families also sharing, created a sense of community and connectiveness that only further re-enforced the comfortable environment in which our son wanted to continue participating in daily. SUCCESS! MORE! "Let's do this!"

Let me just say that my husband is full-on, 100%, both feet in, inspired by this project as am I. There is something truly special when a group of people sharing the same dreem and inspiration join together for all the right reasons in order to make that dreem come true!

I can tell you that both Dreemsteem and Wizearch have been throwing in every ounce of time and energy into this - often pulling all-nighters in order to get this to the next level.

The way I see it, this is also for our Steemian Community to share in as well. An opportunity to be a part of something positive that we can all feel good about supporting and watch grow. With Dreemsteem's relentless sharing, the word of Spunkee Monkee has spread and many wonderful Steemians are joining in and doing their utmost best to help in its fund raising efforts, but we truly need the larger Steemian Community to help get it to the finish line.

Once there, we can all celebrate in what we've joined together in creating. Because in truth, this is about US as a community and what we are capable of doing together.

Let's face it, raising funds to get this project moving to the next level hasn't been easy - Dreem has certainly exceeded her energy reserves and time in order to see this to fruition. Not to be dismayed and with the the help of other Steemians, Sponkee Monkees will be the little engine that could - because at the heart of it, it's a positive and potent project with some pretty special kids and parents and passionate Steemians lending their own time and energy, skills and heart into something that will be inspiring for all.
