I haven’t posted in a long time, but felt this was worth posting about.

Just wanted to take a moment to be thankful, there are days/weeks+ where I lose focus of the positive and tend to focus on all the work and chores that need to get done with little time. Work is soul crushing busy right now, plenty of work that needs to get done this fall before the snow starts to fly. Of course I need dry weather to do this, and it won’t stop raining.

Side note for an extra kick to the guy. After investing a decent chunk of change (2k) for new brakes and tires to keep my 05 Suburban running. (See post here), I found out that new little engine noise is a knock….. from the lower end. Great news is, that means a whole new engine for about 5k if I pay someone to do. I don’t have the skills to do it, and can’t spend that much money on ol rusty black beauty. She has a lot of other minor problems that could become major. So on top of work, I have been researching new cars like crazy, testing driving a few, not likely them and going to back to figure out what I want before ol Rusty Trusty leave me on the side of the road.

This season has been pretty typical, I am too stubborn and try to force my daily quest in vs just playing the best deck and seeing how many would naturally fit over the course of the sessions. Tonight was an epic run – one of those too good to be true runs. I got Earth for my quest, one of my favorites simply because I can typically find a good team for the majority of the rules sets. I did start off with two loses, just getting warmed up.

Once I started winning, it was an easy run

Take a look at that… one win in Death, and then 5-0 with Earth. Not only was Earth an option for me, but I managed to win. My team was playing unreal. Let’s be honest, I wasn’t that good tonight, but everything… and I mean everything went my way.

• Poison on first hit… of course
• Retaliate – only when it helps me.
• Miss attacks or no Retaliate when it would kill be from thorns but the miss lets me get healed. Yup
• Uncounted misses on my players to let me run the table… Yup

It was a run roll to be on – I let it ride for a few more matches.

My DEC rate was still in the high 80% so I played a few more managed to win

Ending Rating (before first los) : 3561

I got to the middle of Diamond 1 pretty quick. Just a reminder I am still only running level 6 Summoners and monsters to match. I want to end the season in Champ again, I much prefer to start the season in Diamond if I can to help at the start.

I got decent rewards for my epic run.

• Two Golf Foils and a Chicken!
  Can complain with results like that when not running Potions. I am still keeping all my GF cards, not sure why. It is highly unlikely I will get enough to play, but for now I am combining them and sending them to my silver Herons accounts to get that 10% boost. I may end up burning some but for now they will just be welcomed into my Hoard of cards.

• Chicken….
  We all need more chickens. While the price has fallen a bit, I am still need so many more to get for both my deck and my rentals. The one thing I didn’t think about with all the new reward cards is just how many I will need for all the accounts. Something like the chicken is so useful it is an absolute must, but there are times I wish I could use a 1 BCX before it gets Melee when it is excluded. I am still hoping to pull a GF one, that has to be one of the most useful cards taking the lead from GF Creeping Ooze.

I know many are not excited about seeing reward cards posts

I get it, but this was more of an exercise for myself to focus on the positive. I had a stupid good run last night, I got way better than average reward cards. I am thankful for Splinterlands. I know I have spent a good amount of money on the game, but at the same time there are real economic returns. I made ~$57 USD last season alone from playing Post here. Some pretty passive, some very intensive. Either way – it is an amazing opportunity and I can’t wait to see the new cards for Untamed and what direction the game goes after.
