RE: Incorporating An Old Bowling "Prize Game" into The Splinterlands While Addressing the Gold Foil Dilemma
I’m all about mini games and time killers being added into the game!

I think this would be nuts. It would have people holding big gold cards in their champion level decks, and every so often someone could catch the chance to win a bunch of reward cards, not every day, but whenever they are lucky enough to get their number drawn or however it's decided. On the lower levels too it would encourage even more play if it's based on total number of games played at each level by everybody. The nice thing too is that it wouldn't force anyone to do anything, again, a purely upside move out of the player whether they would care take part or not.
That’s one thing we need is games added to break up the battles as it can become repetitive.
Mario Party was a good example of fun mini games that were pointless but a stress relief!
I loved Mario party games. I need to find a way to play again.
Right on. Or something to make the lineups that we see less predictable rather than just piles of regular cards. Not to whine too much but the gold card market is speaking very loudly that these cards are piles of DEC with a "collectability" aspect to them. Me personally I think the masses have spoken loud and clear what they think of collectibles versus "daily plays and ongoing rewards." Games like you are talking about definitely can spring up, someone could literally make a game of whatever they wanted based on monster cards. I actually tossed that thought around a little bit myself, but not being a programmer I quit tossing the thought around very quickly, lol.
That’s an interesting point!
I’d like to see an offical 6th card added to each pack that consisted of a special monster lore card.
This would have part of the over arching story from the game and collecting these would unlock bonus parts of the story mode which could offer unique rewards in a quest type model.
I think I’d make them transferable but once used the card converts into a badge on the profile or something so they can’t be used or cycled through multiple accounts.
The badge would work in conjunction with completing a quest but to be different the quest is battling and defeating a gym leader similar to Pokémon.
The developers or even sponsor could pay for the rights to be the gym or person you fight in a best of 5 rounds battle against their actual deck of monsters.
This would be different to boss battles as I believe that’s just 1 monster everyone fights together.
An option like this could also appeal to people that want to play solo and not join a guild as their preference.
Whoa. Good call there that would be very neat. Kind of like the title thing they are starting to come up with on kickstarter, very interesting. Or your 6th card could be 20 gold reward cards lol, either way I'd be happy to have a shot at earning/buying either.
I did a edit lol check again!
Wow this is over my head I'm not too familiar with pokemon but knew people that were, and the gym thing seems pretty cool. Something like this could be a very solid change-up. I think they are thinking about or talking about making a map kind of like other games where you mine for resources and stuff like that. Not sure if that is still part of the plan but on that end the literal mining of resources to create buffs could be unbelievably cool.
There is a month old podcast I just saw the other day that aggroed is talking about adding similar features like gyms, and the map version he talks about in a peakmonsters podcast with jarvie and nealmcspadden. He also talked about certain cards being used for mining of rare materials and stuff like that. Cards that may not fight well at all may in fact be really good miners, or useful miners in that respect. It bewilders the mind where they can take this game and how quickly it's developing into a real force to be reckoned with.
