Day 4 & 5 - Splinterlands.io - My first tournament experience, 40 card pack opening & end of season rewards!
Welcome to my Splinterlands.io personal daily update ramblings.
On my first day of playing Splinterlands.io trading card game I reached the rank of Silver 1 straight from Novice, on my second day I was able to push up to Gold 2. I sat here comfortably to see what the end of season rewards would be like for this bracket without having to bring myself too much stress as I knew at the end of the season there would be a lot of competition and I didn't fancy dropping ranks against players with stronger cards (which is inevitable as my actual financial investment into cards has been almost $10 for the starter pack).
First Tournament Experience
Lmao. I actually don't want to write about this after how embarrassing it was. I entered 2 Gold tournaments which had no card restrictions which I thought would be a good thing so I can use what I have available against oher players ranked Gold. Oh how wrong I was, it turns out Splinterlands tournaments simply place the rank restriction on to tournaments but any player with any cards who's ranked ANYwhere can take part, meaning you can be fighting a Champion player with access to every single card and summoner. Honestly I thought the tournaments were going to be a lot fairer for everyone to take part in. I was thinking it was quite literally you play against players of your own rank. Anyway I lost the first game in both events, no real surprise everyone has much more to play with than myself right now and naturally they desire the big rewards for easy games. Since learning about how the tournaments work I think I'll start signing up to the Novice and Bronze tournaments from here on, maybe my collection will stand a chance down there for now!
Daily Quest - Rewards
First and foremost today I was finally able to start off my afternoon with the quest "Win 5 ranked matches with the Water splinter"! This was great news for me as I've acquired some very strong early cards like Alric as a summoner and Ruler of the Skies and Sea Monster, for the early ranks this combination of Water cards is rather face roll and can allow you to climb rating easily.
The rewards I achieved for my daily quests were:
Not a bad set of rewards at all for myself, the Undead Rexx pickup is a great addition to my Death collection this card has a decent set of stats, no passive ability at level 1 but 5 ATK / 9 HP / 2 SPD is decent enough combine him with a tank healer and maybe an aoe speed booster could make for a naughty combo one shotting most cards who don't have armour. And of course the extra Sea Monster will come in handy towards levelling mine up.
So while waiting for the end of season rewards to come about I took a break from gameplay and managed to acquire 40 card packs, I'll simply place the images for you to see without going into too much detail. As you'll see half way through I realised you can open multiple packs at a time...
All in all a pretty decent set of cards to bolster my collection especially with some of the pulls being 2-4 *
I'm not an investor nor a trader for profit but if there's a card you see here you'd like to purchase for STEEM private message me on discord (bzkrp) you can find me in the Splinterlands discord server. If it's a card I'm not using then I'm sure we can come to some kind of arrangement, or maybe even a trade for something I don't have!
So it's my first fresh season, I'm starting out at Silver 2, probably won't be playing too much today other than daily quest but then I plan on pushing rating to Gold 1 or higher hopefully over the next day or two, we'll see how it goes.
