Nadal criticizes 25-second shot clock plan
Rafael Nadal, tennis world number one has come out to openly criticize the plans to introduce a shot clock next year at the Wimbledon.
This came on the heels of his speed move past Dudi Sela of Israel on Tuesday in the first round of the Wimbledon competition.
The U.S Open has made a decision to introduce a shot clock this year in order to ensure that the strict enforcement is carried out on the 25 seconds allowed between points.
There’s a great likelihood that Wimbledon will follow suit with this plan and introduce theirs as well.
Novak Djokovic, former world number one had once described that decision as one which was disrespectful to the players.
Speaking about the decision, Nadal noted that he was not getting younger and he didn’t know how long we was going to keep playing but he would like to play for longer.
He also added that he doesn’t support such a move as the game of tennis needs the player to think and play with better tactics.
