Michael Owen predicts team to win Champions league

The legendary player has revealed the teams that he thinks can win the Champions league this season.

The Champions League trophy has for six seasons not left Spain. Either Barcelona or Real Madrid have won it since that year. The better part has been Madrid's who have won it four times in the last five seasons. However, this season would see Real Madrid miss out on winning it as they were dumped out of the competition by a vibrant and domineering Ajax side.

Barcelona are hoping that this would be their year. They've watched local rivals, Madrid lift the trophy the last three years and want it back, badly so. Messi, during the opening of their domestic campaign made a statement that he wants the crown back in the Camp Nou, a statement that echoes the cry of thousands of the Catalan club's fan base.

Michael Owen however thinks the crown is headed for England. Four of the eight teams left are of England locality. Owen sees either Manchester City or Liverpool taking it this time as, according to him, they are a tad level above the others.
