UNITED CAN CHALLENGE CITY - ROONEY

Wayne Rooney is strongly convinced that Jose Mourinho's men can now challenge the 2017/18 English Premier League winners Manchester United in the coming season.

The Old Traford dwellers ended their last Premier League campaign on the second spot on the table with 19 points behind the leaders Manchester City which the former player Rooney has seen as a positive vibe to attain a better spot the coming season.

The Red Devils, so far in the transfer market, have been seen adding to their squad.

The club have signed Fred, Lee Grant and Diogo Dalot and reportedly still in pursuit of other players.

"It is very possible now, I see them challenging Pep's men. United's last season was very good but City were just in an extraordinary form which did not bring up United's performance to a notable level." He said to BBC Sport after after his DC United debut.
