ROONEY BELIEVES ENGLAND CAN WIN THE WORLD CUP THIS YEAR

Wayne Rooney is adamant that England can put an end to their 52 year World Cup drought this year in Russia.

Come Tuesday being the 3rd day of July, England will face off against the Colombian national team in the round of 16.

The former Manchester United forward and England captain, who also is the country's all-time highest goal scorer believes the team has a better chance this year as many suspected obstacles were quick eliminated.

Speaking to Fox in an interview which he granted them, Rooney noted that all obstacles formerly standing in their way have now been eliminated.

He also stated that a number of the bigger teams which would have proved a stumbling block to their dreams have all been kicked out.

Thus, he finished saying that it is his belief that they would really go farther than they expect, or even go ahead to cart home the coveted trophy.

Gareth Southgate's men's first two victories over Tunisia and Panama have been the source of their confidence before they were tamed against Belgium which was their third match as they came out second from the group stage.
