Turkish president will honor Ozil's wedding invitation

The Arsenal and former German international player is set to get married.

Despite the fact that things haven't exactly been going smooth for the player, life must go on.

The player met the Turkish president at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul last week to offer him an invitation face-to-face.

Ozil was born in Germany but is actually a descendant of Turkey and he even has his family there.

You will remember the controversy at the world cup where Ozil was found taking pictures with the Turkish president before the competition began and got many fans criticizing him. This would later escalate with Germany exiting the competition at the group stage and receiving severe backlash from fans. Ozil announced his retirement from international football shorty afterwards.

With his invitation extended to the Turkish president, the media has again turned their attention to the player and many German fans have started crying foul. Ozil however seems unperturbed.

Gupse, the lady he's engaged and getting married to is from Turkey and recently participated in the Miss Turkey pageantry.
