Football is about a team and beyond a player.

Some players can be so exceptional. Some players have succeeded in establishing records that are mind blowing. One of such players is Mohammed Sallah.

Mohammed Sallah is an Egyptian who is a virtuoso at his job.

Below is a list of some of Sallah’s feats:

1. Salah scored at his debut in the premier league. An achievement that not many players have especially in Liverpool.

2. M. Salah was voted by fans as the player of the month even in his first month as a player in Liverpool.

3. He was the first Egyptian to win the player of the month in the premier league.

4. BBC awarded him the African player of the year even above Victor Moses, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita.

5. In 2017-18 season, Salah scored 20 goals in all competitions long before the season was over.

6. In January, Salah was named Arab player of the year.

7. He was also named the Africa player of the year at CAF awards.

8. He was also named PFA player of the year.

These and several more are the achievements of Sallah thus far.

How about the Egyptian team?

Sallah’s feats nothwithstanding, Egypt as a team have not won any match in the 2018 world cup.

They played their first match their first match against Uruguay and lost by 1 goal to nil. As if this was not enough, they played and lost their second match against Russia with M. Sallah in the pitch also.

This goes on to prove that it takes more than an exceptional player to win matches in the game of football, It takes a team – a football team.

A player like Sallah can be exceptional, amazing, virtuoso; but it takes beyond a player to win matches.
