'Yamaha Crisis Will Still Continue Until Next Year'
Yamaha has not been able to overcome the problem in an attempt to break the fast of victory. MotoGP top observer Carlo Pernat predicts the Yamaha crisis will continue.
The Japanese manufacturer's last victory was reached in Assen, Netherlands 2017 when Valentino Rossi climbed the highest podium. After that, Yamaha was only able to pick 12 podiums to date.
Maverick Vinales could not even hide his frustration after failing at all at the Austrian MotoGP at the end of last week. At the race, Vinales started from 11th place and finished 12th, while Rossi was ranked sixth.
YZR-M1 project leader Kouji Tsuya to apologize for failing to provide Rossi and Vinales a competitive motorbike.
"At Yamaha, the part [the former Yamaha boss, Masao] Furusawa has been completed and the new one has begun. However, there is still a lack of ingenuity among the engineers," Pernat told GPOne.
"This will be a big problem, because the chrysanthemum will continue until next year and the distance will continue to grow."
"Rossi can say he is good on certain tracks, such as in Malaysia or Australia but it's complicated for the remaining circuits. While Vinales seems to have been smashed to pieces."
The next MotoGP race will be held at Silverstone, England on August 26.
