Man Utd transfer talk was a distraction - Longstaff
Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff has revealed that he was "distracted" by the rumours of a potential transfer to Manchester United over the summer. He was linked with a £30 million ($37m) switch which never materialised.
The 21-year-old Sean agreed that his head was turned by rumours of the Red Devils interest in him but admits that he is now focused on his duties at Newcastle.
Longstaff burst onto the Premier League scene last season, impressing in nine appearances for Newcastle before being struck down with a knee ligament injury in March.
Longstaff played brilliantly to catch Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's eye in Manchester.
You can sometimes get distracted by the outside noise and maybe for a little bit in the summer I was a bit,” Longstaff told Newcastle's official website.
