Tough love! How Chelsea & Lampard are helping Hudson-Odoi realise his world-class potential
The Blues boss, Frank Lampard and his official team are trying so hard to promote the 18-year-old winger because they realise just how great a player he can become. Callum Hudson-Odoi signed a new contract with Chelsea because Frank Lampard made sure of that and the winger is so happy about this. The contract has an extension that will guarantee him about £150,000 ($184,000) per week.
"Now that a five-year contract is signed, this is where the hard work really starts for him," Lampard told reporters on September 20.
Lampard has made no secret of the fact that he holds the winger in high esteem and is confident of Hudson-Odoi's ability. He made it reality to give the gifted but raw 18-year-old the kind of wages usually reserved for established stars, in order to ward off interest from Bayern Munich.
"I made it clear I wanted him at the club because I believe in his talent," the former England midfielder stated.
Lampard has been definite and straight to the point when it came to his talks with Hudson-Odoi. He made the teenager understand that he still has much work to do if he is to realise his full potential.
"I think there is a lot more to come," the Blues boss has publicly admitted. "And it's only pure hard work that will get him there."
Frank Lampard is determined to make it work with his young players and I pray his efforts is repaid in the long run.
