Quel giorno dovevo fare ulteriori esami alle 15, ed è venuta fuori la sentenza: leucemia. E ho preso una bella botta. Sono stato chiuso in casa a riflettere, piangere, ti passa tutta la vita davanti". E gli scappano due lacrime. "Non sono due lacrime di paura: la malattia la rispetto ma la vincerò guardandola negli occhi, martedì comincerò e non vedo l'ora, prima si comincia e prima finisco. È una malattia in fase acuta ma si può guarire e sconfiggere"

Iniziano a essere tanti i giocatori degli anni 90' colpiti dalla Leucemia, circa un anno fa anche Vialli ha iniziato a combattere la sua malattia.
