Son of ex-champ Rolando Navarrete, killed in GenSan shooting
Gunfire erupted from the sound of gunshots last night as some residents fell asleep after a shooting incident in Carcon Village, Brgy. Lagao, GenSan.
In the ensuing incident, the body of a gunman was identified as the son of former boxer Rolando Navarrete, 62.
The victim, Rolando Navarette II, 23, was a resident of the hospital.
Police are still investigating the motive of the crime and the identity of the suspects who allegedly used a motorcycle as a getaway vehicle after the shooting.
Based on the boxing record, the former Filipino boxer has a total of 74 fights with 56 wins, 33 knockouts and 15 losses.
The former world champion, dubbed the "Bad Boy from Dadiangas", has been involved in numerous riots and fights in the city after his boxing career ended.
