Just three days ago, Real Madrid produced one of their best performances under current coach Zinedine Zidane by putting six past Galatasaray of Turkey in which a Brazilian wonder-kid Rodrygo Goes scored a hat-trick. Fast forward to this day, they made it 10 goals in two matches against an Eibar side who had no sort of reply whatsoever to the recent impressive organization of the Real Madrid team.

At Ipurua, home to Eibar, there were three persons missing from the starting line up from the one that was sent out against Galatasaray in the midweek Uefa Champions League game. Luka Modric came in place of Toni Kroos, Ferland Mendy in place of Marcelo and LKucas Vasquez in place of Rodrygo Goes.

The line up remained the same aside the few changes with Courtois retaining his Goal Keeping spot, Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane retaining their central defensive partnership, Dani Carvajal continuing at right back and Ferland Mendy completing the backline at left back.

In midfield, Fede Valverde started again and was merged with the ever-present Casemiro and Luka Modric while the attack witnessed Eden Hazard and Lucas Vasquez flanking Karim Benzema.

The match started with Eibar playing a high line and it took Real Madrid until the 17th minute to hurt the tactical structure of Eibar when there was a ball struggle in the Eibar’s penalty area which finally found its way to the man who started the struggle, Karim Benzema to put it past the Eibar’s goal keeper to make it 1 nil.

Not up to two minutes after that goal, Eden Hazard was brought to the ground by an Eibar defender after he performed a little trick with his foot on the ball to get it past the defender who in turn caught his leg and a penalty was awarded. Sergio Ramos would score the ensuing penalty and Real Madrid went two goals up.

The match continued with Real Madrid bossing in every section of the pitch and in all statistics until Lucas Vasquez performed trickery with his foot in Eibar’s box and was brought down for it. Karim Benzema would take the ensuing penalty and take Real Madrid three goals up.

Half time came with Real leading by 3 goals and the second half continued in the same manner the first did and about 15 minutes into the second half, Eibar picked up some sort of rhythm after it seemed that of Real Madrid dropped. They tried so hard to score but the Real Madrid backline remained solid and impenetrable. While the Real Madrid defense was finalizing the job, their attack weren’t done yet. A move by Vinicius Junior would see the ball land on the feet of Luka Modric on the other side of the pitch. The Croatian waited for the perfect moment to put in a superb pass to Fede Valverde who was lurking alone on the edge of the penalty box for the Uruguayan midfielder to score a Toni Kroos-Esque goal and take Real four goals up.

The match would end that way with Eibar trying so hard to score a consolation goal but to no avail and it is 15 goals in four matches for the whites. Impressive isn’t?
