RE: Today in history: First ever women's professional basketball game in USA
For me basketball was my dream sport. Actually in our school when I was about 7, there were basketball trainers who were starting a junior team and selected the girls. I was little but that time did not realize and was very upset that they did not select me. Nevertheless I attended every training and new every rules, trick of playing with ball and was not bad when we played with my friends in our free time. But later on we moved to another place and that dream died off. Until now I still have great memories about.
As to WBA, the irony is no matter how good the women teams are an in any sports, the male teams are more popular like in Football, we know Pele, Maradona, Zedan, Ronaldo or Messi. The same in NBA: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dirk Nowitzki who is my favorite player, I actually done his portrait a while ago, just if you find it interesting:
Unfortunately, the women Sport games are not so popular and to tell the truth I even can't tell you any.
